As a former CIO of a large technology company, Barry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as an expert Champion of Smart Cities & 5G practice.
He has a Masters in Network Engineering and a professional background which saw him spend time at AT&T Bell Labs, IBM and Accenture. Barry is passionate about utilising digital disruptive technologies such as 5G, Cloud computing, big data, AI, IoT and smart city solutions to create new innovative solutions.
As an accomplished senior executive, Barry has led strategic initiatives to create new business opportunities in government, telecom, and digital communications industries, and he has extensive experience across Asia-Pacific in the areas of strategic planning, policy development, ICT solutions and strategic infrastructure architecture.
However, it is Barry’s strong relationship management and networks across senior industry and government executives throughout Asia-Pacific – coupled with his understanding of what is needed to undertake a complete digital transformation – that is of significant value to 460degrees.
Since migrating to Australia from the USA, Barry has become an avid AFL fan and has given up his allegiance to gridiron. He does volunteer work for many organisations that are based on improving one’s health and social betterment.
